Former Vice President Al Gore was at the University of Oklahoma in March to discuss global warming. And so was one of his sharpest critics.
OU geophysicist David Deming is known for his criticism of the media over global warming.
In a statement in December before the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works ” then chaired by notorious global warming critic, Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe ” Deming said media is feeding a global warming “hysteria.”
“There is an overwhelming bias today in the media regarding the issue of global warming,” Deming told Inhofe’s committee. “In the past two years, this bias has bloomed into an irrational hysteria. Every natural disaster that occurs is now linked with global warming, no matter how tenuous or impossible the connection. As a result, the public has become vastly misinformed on this and other environmental issues.”

“Clearly, the issue of global warming is of major importance to our society, and it is appropriate to have an understanding and broad-ranging discussion of the subject on the campus,” said OU President David L.
