Thinking green is the theme for the sixth annual Oklahoma Sustainability Network Conference.
A variety of topics ” ranging from agriculture and ethics to alternative energy and transportation ” will be discussed Friday and Saturday when the Oklahoma Sustainability Network and Sustainable OKC host the conference at the National Weather Center, 120 David L. Boren Blvd. in Norman, in connection with Earth Day.
Sessions at the conference will address what Oklahomans can to do improve sustainability efforts within the state.
“In Oklahoma, we have the power and the ability to be a leader in areas of sustainability, and we need to grab that opportunity and take advantage of it,” said Jennifer Gooden, Sustainable OKC founder and treasurer.
Among the educational opportunities the conference offers, attendees also will have a chance to lunch and snack on locally grown foods throughout the weekend.
Leaders in many fields related to sustainability will present individual workshops about conservation of local and state resources.
Registration prices range from $40 to $120. Discounts and student prices are available. To register, call 632-2066 or visit the Sustainability Web site. “Chris Willard
