Emmy Rossum – Inside Out




I’ll admit I took one look at “Inside Out,” the debut album of actress Emmy Rossum’ the starlet-in-peril of “Poseidon,” “The Day After Tomorrow,” “The Phantom of the Opera”‘ and thought that, like Katharine McPhee’s freshmen effort, the best thing about it would be the photos.


But surprise, surprise: The classically trained singer foregoes the easy, expected pop-tart route and instead sticks to her operatic roots. The first track, “Slow Me Down,” gives one an immediate taste of the album’s tone: breathless vocals layered on top of each other and a bed of lush electronics
