The Official Nancy Drew Handbook: Skills, Tips, & Life Lessons from Everyone’s Favorite Girl Detective – Penny Warner

Quirk

Like a “Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook” aimed at preteen girls, “The Official Nancy Drew Handbook” imparts both enduring wisdom and handy info, seemingly from the most famous female investigative sleuth in all of kid-lit, still going strong (even if her movie tanked earlier this year).

Some of the chapters actually have practical applications, such as learning Morse code or reviving a fainting victim. Some, chances are, you’ll never have to use “” how to escape from a car trunk or an attack by alligators “” but wouldn’t hurt to know. Others seem hopelessly outdated, particularly “How to Get That Ring on Your Finger and That Man to the Altar.”

So it’s not all to be taken seriously, but it’s all delivered with pleasing graphics and Nancy’s usual blue-and-yellow color scheme.
