Museum gets kids, parents together for nature games

The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, 2401 Chautauqua in Norman, presents “Family Night Out: Nature Game Night,” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. Experience the stimulation of playing in the fresh air of the great outdoors instead of being cooped up in the stale living room.

The event features a kid-friendly dinner ” including pizza, cookies and juice ” followed by outdoor games even parents can participate in with their children, and a unique game-designing activity, which can be taken home.

“We are first going to focus on natural, outdoor games, and then the families are going to make their own game board to take home,” Laura Vaughn, museum educator, said. “The games are going to be neat, outdoor-friendly games ” something that will hopefully encourage families to spend more quality time together.”

Tickets are $10 for museum members, $12 for nonmembers, and free for ages 4 and under. Space is limited, so preregistration is required. For more information, visit their site or call 325-4712.
