Earlier in the month, it had not been clear whether a U2 stadium show said to be scheduled for Norman this fall, would actually take the stage.
In early March, an independent fan site reported the Irish rock band would make an Oct. 19 tour stop at the University of Oklahoma’s Memorial Stadium. The site, U2log.com, reported that registered members of the band’s official site would get an early chance at tickets, which were said to be sold to the public on Saturday.
Concert organizer Live Nation, which is promoting U2’s “360 Tour,” has reportedly removed the Oct. 19 Norman date from its Web site.
Norman is still listed as a tour stop on U2’s official Web site, but the show isn’t among those given dates on the band’s concert schedule. There is a two-week gap in the band’s tour schedule from Oct. 10 to Oct. 24. “Joe Wertz
