Kids, bring your sleeping bags and gaze at the stars. Science Museum Oklahoma hosts “Bright Night of Flight” at 6 p.m. Friday at the museum, 2100 N.E. 52nd, and ends the next morning at 8 a.m.

Spending the night at the site, kids and their parents will be given late-night snacks and breakfast; able to participate in hands-on, craft activities with a science emphasis; and allowed to view shows at the museum’s planetarium, the dome theater and the “Science Live” stage.

Not only is this an educational experience for children, but is beneficial for busy parents as well.

“Being a parent, it’s hard to generate exciting, engaging activities for their kids, but with ‘Bright Night of Flight,’ this gives parents the opportunity to come and play as a participant with their kids,” said Clayton P. Moore of Science Museum Oklahoma. “Parents engage with their kids to subject matter they may not know about and maybe learn more about their kids and their interests.”

Cost is $45 per participant. For more information, call 602-6664 or visit http://www.sciencemuseumok.org. “LeighAnne Manwarren
