Kids and their families can enjoy earth-friendly seminars and activities, including crafts that involve using recycled materials, as well as creek explorations where children can net fish and other reptiles.
Casey Lindo, naturalist for Martin Park, said that EarthFest is a great opportunity for children to get outside and explore.
“It’s important for kids to be conscious of the environment around them,” she said. “Doing these activities will help them learn how valuable things like land and fresh air are to us.”
Attendees also can participate in the annual can stomp, in which youngsters stomp aluminum cans as a way to make a donation and recycle. The park encourages those who wish to participate in the stomp to bring their own cans.
Admission is $2 per person. For more information, call 755-0676 or visit okc.gov/parks. —Courtney Silva
