Located in the First National Center at 120 N. Robinson, the new eatery is a partnership of Kelly Gray, Chris Kana, Jay Mays, Stephanie Morrical and Paul Sorrentino. Mays said the group has no plans for a third restaurant yet.
“We’re just trying to get this new one up and running,” Mays said. “We are very excited about being part of everything going on downtown.”
The new location offers the same menu as the original at 14101 N. May: pasta, pizza, salads and sandwiches for $7 or less. Both locations have added a seasonal menu that includes other options that will rotate quarterly.
Cafe 7 has been a popular offsite catering choice since opening in November 2008. Patrons now have the option of holding catered events at a news private event space at the downtown restaurant. A catering license allows Cafe 7 to serve alcohol at private events.
Kana said the group decided to open the new location to take advantage of increased activity downtown.
“Everything is happening downtown now,” he said. “The Thunder, MAPS projects, Devon tower and residential growth make it the place to be. There are amazing opportunities, and we wanted to be a part of that.”
The restaurant, which opened earlier this month, occupies the space that housed Copeland’s Office Supply and Woods Floral. Cafe 7 is open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
