Panang 2

authentic Thai restaurant expanded its family-owned joint, which
initially opened in 2007. The second location offers the same great
service customers know and love as well as the exceptional menu that
created a loyal base of Thai food junkies. Enjoy its lunch combo,
ranging from selections of red curry chicken to basil pork or mixed
veggies. For dinner, try the fried tofu and gravy noodles (rad nah).

Catfish cove

6201 northwest expressway catfishcoveok.com 722-2555

is the third location for the locally owned seafood spot. It’s a quick,
casual dining experience reminiscent of a day at sea, minus the
seasickness and drunken sailors. Try its lunch and dinner specials,
which include fried jumbo shrimp, freshcut fries and sides like macaroni
and cheese or corn nuggets. It has a full salad bar, as well as
house-made desserts.

La brasa Peruvian kitchen

1310 nW 25th St. labrasaokc.com 524-2251

a fresh new take on fusion, blending Peruvian classics with South
American flavors and modern-day dining tweaks. The star of the kitchen
is its ceviche, which is served in an aji amarillo or rocoto sauce. The
specialty — a world-famous dish and inspiration for the restaurant — is pollo a la brasa, a marinated and chargrilled whole organic chicken.

Hideaway Pizza

6616 n. Western ave. hideawaypizza.com 840-4777

kitchen fire closed this local haunt for the better part of 2013, but
now it’s open and ready to serve piping-hot pies and famous fried
mushrooms. A lunch menu offers a selection of pizza and small salad or
pasta with garlic bread, all under ten bucks. If fried pickles are your
thing, order some — served with a side of special dipping sauce.

Taqueria rafita

1222 n. Pennsylvania ave. 604-5040

The air is chilly outside, but inside Taqueria Rafita, the mole verde is
warm and savory. If you’re feeling adventurous, try a daily special —
which might include a whole fish grilled — or delight in a classic
barbacoa burrito, a chicken quesadilla meal with rice and refried beans
or a carne asada quesadilla.

Waffle champion

1212 n. Walker ave. wafflechampion.com 525-9235

is the champion of handcrafted waffles. From mobile to brick-andmortar,
Waffle Champion serves delectable creations. Try its seasonal yums,
like a buttermilk waffle featuring house-made pumpkin butter, cream
cheese syrup, dried cranberries and cinnamon candied pecans. On the
spicy side of things, it also offers a waffle filled with house-made
turkey chorizo and queso.

Rocky mountain Grill

231 S. coltrane rd., edmond 562-4777

search of a killer BLT? Search over. Get it here with hand-made fries.
From the ultimate comfort food menu, try its chicken-fried chicken
served with mashed potatoes and corn, all smothered in gravy. Give its
burger or chicken fajita nachos a try, and for those early risers, Rocky
Mountain serves up breakfast burritos with its own sausage gravy
