BLOG: OKC second most conservative city in America

Oklahoma City is one of the nation's most conservative cities politically.

That may not come as a surprise given the region's reputation as a Republican hotbed. However, what may surprise you is that OKC is only No. 2, behind Mesa, Arizona.

A national survey conducted by Chris Warshaw of MIT and Chris Tausanovitch from the University of California at Los Angeles was published by the American Political Science Review ranking the nation's largest cities on a political scale.

The complete list can be found below in a chart published by The Economist.

The most liberal cities? San Francisco, Washington DC and Seattle. The ranking shows that most major cities lean liberal with only 11 cities (many in the south and west) leaning conservative.
