It is never too early to start thinking about what you are going to do once the holiday madness calms down to a dull roar and we enter the brutal cold of Oklahoma winter.

Firehouse Art Center wants to lure you with an entire festival around chocolate. Tickets are now on sale for the 33rd Annual Chocolate Festival fundraiser supporting visual arts in the community.

From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Jan. 31, you can sample some of the most delectable chocolate creations contributed by local food masters. The event is hosted at the NCED Conference Center and Hotel, 2801 E. State Highway 9, Norman.

According to a press release, television’s The Food Network has ranked the festival third in food festivals. It has also been featured in both Southern Living and Bon Appetite.

Guests will sample the range of things to be done with the humble cocoa bean, both savory and sweet by area chefs and restaurants. Past winners including Norman favorites LOCAL and Legend's Restaurant.

This event is the art center's only fundraiser, and serves to not only raise funds for the nonprofit, but also build awareness about arts education in the Norman community with arts activities during the festivities for adults and children alike. There will be foil sculpting for all ages and a painting activity for children called Creative Cube.
