The chief investigator at the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs has been terminated from his position due to ongoing fraud you kind of have to respect.
Alleging that Steven B. Pancoast Jr. faked documents and credentials and denied his New Jersey criminal record, authorities accused the 41-year-old of impersonating a police officer, perjury and illegal possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, reported an article from The Oklahoman.
Additionally, Pancoasts antics might have compromised a number of cases in which he held investigative roles, including a pending neglect case against an assistant at the Claremore Veterans Center.
Though a fraud on paper, The Oklahoman reported that he had a legitimate reputation as a hard worker and avid investigator of abuse and neglect. There arent really any other answers about how he passed as legitimate, except that he was working for the government which, if were being honest, is always an acceptable excuse.
