H&8th Night Market organizers announced today that tonight's event has been canceled due to concerns over recent forecasts of severe weather.

“We had a meeting with the National Weather Service this morning about the weather report for tonight. Conditions are primed for severe weather and our attitude has always been safety first,” event manager Brian Bergman said in a media statement.“The conditions are there for tornadoes and we're going to err on the side of safety. We've had one cancellation in our four plus seasons of H&8th, so we don't make this decision lightly.”

The free, pet- and kid-friendly street festival, held on the last Friday of each month through October, also features a growing roster of the city's top food trucks and live music, located between NW Sixth and 10th streets along Hudson Avenue.

Tonight's Industry Flea art and vintage market, which runs in tandem with the festival, also is canceled, organizers said.

H&8th returns May 29. For more information, visit h8thokc.com.
