The Shooting in Orlando Florida

(Oklahoma City Oklahoma June 13, 2016) The Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City (ISGOC) will like to send out our condolences and prayers to the victims and families of the monstrous and evil act that was committed this past weekend in Orlando Florida. This act is an act of evil to the extreme. We ask the nation to join in hands and solidarity for the victims of Orlando.

“There isn’t anything that can describe how I feel about this hideous act of brutality and terror,” Saad Mohammed the director of Islamic information for ISGOC.

Today we will fly our flags at half staff for the victims and their families.

This is the Holy Month of Ramadan. We look forward during this month to get closer to our Holy Book, our Holy Prophet and to God himself. This is a month of prayer and worship. A month of life. This heinous act contradicts the Holy Month plus the very teachings and practices of Islam. This is against our beliefs. We also pray for the family of the shooter because they will face various challenges now. We ask the Almighty to protect and guide us all.
