After getting plenty of hoots and hollers from the ladies in The Tonight Show crowd for pictures of his pre-game looks, Westbrook asked the host, “That’s pretty fresh, don’t you think?”

Fashion icon and Oklahoma City Thunder basketball player Russell Westbrook visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Sept. 8 to discuss, among other things, his eclectic wardrobe.

The point guard was dubbed an “avant-garde trendsetter” by The Washington Post after he recently showed up at New York Fashion Week to watch the new DKNY styles come down the runway, but the self-proclaimed #fashionking was reminded by Fallon that not everyone is a fan of his out-there menswear.

After getting plenty of hoots and hollers from the ladies in The Tonight Show crowd for pictures of his pre-game looks, Westbrook asked the host, “That’s pretty fresh, don’t you think?”

But Fallon mentioned an April quote from former NBA all-star and current TNT network basketball commentator Charles Barkley, who remarked, “What the hell? What the hell is that?!” after Westbrook showed up to a game in a David Osborne-designed denim patchwork shirt.

To his credit, the recently re-signed Thunder star seemed unfazed by the criticism and simply retorted, “Who?” when Barkley’s critique was mentioned.

Chicken-Fried News is sure the Round Mound of Rebound will have plenty more to say about OKC’s favorite devoted follower of fashion as the TNT basketball crew covers Westbrook’s Nov. 3 reunion game with former teammate Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors.
