A standoff at a southeast Oklahoma City home ended when a tactical team forced its way into the residence, NewsOK.com recently reported.

It wasn’t what the authorities saw, but what they didn’t see, that took them by surprise.

Police originally responded before 7 a.m. to a home invasion report from a family claiming a man with a gun had kicked in their door at the 8100 block of Timothy Lane and threatened to kill them, according to a NewsOK.com report.

The man fled the scene in a red Dodge Charger. A News9.com story said it was unclear whether the man took anything from inside the home.

Police said they believed they tracked the man to another home in the 4400 block of Lunow Drive near SE 46th Street and Sunnylane Road, NewsOK.com reported. Instead of seeing a man whom they believed to be armed, the tactical team entered the home to find it empty.

Authorities identified the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest on complaints of burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.
