Oklahoma Ugly Bug contest with an exhibition of larger-than-life photos of insects all captured by the contest’s 2016 winners. Open to all Oklahoma elementary schools, the annual “ugly bug” competition is designed to get students interested in microscopy and entomology at a young age. This exhibit provides an opportunity for children to learn more about the world around them on a different scale than they’re used to, and allows visitors to see the beauty of these bugs in a way they weren’t able to with the naked eye.
