What does a OKC homeowner actually look like?

Gazette staff February 2nd, 2011

What does the typical homeowner in Oklahoma City look like, literally? According to a recent survey conducted by The Media Audit, whites comprise 79.8 percent of all homeowners among adults age 18 and older in town.

(Among the metro’s base population of 999,273 residents, 737,414 — 73.8 percent — fall into that category of adults who own a home.)

Hispanics are the next highest ethnicity, at 5.4 percent, followed by African-Americans at 4.1 percent and Asians at 3.6 percent. —Gazette staff
