The Cambrian explosion is science that says all phyla came into existence almost simultaneously, not slowly from simple to complex forms. Professor Kurt Hochenauer in his Commentary (“Point: More doctors, less preachers,” April 13, Gazette) referred to advances in vaccines and livestock breeding made possible by evolution theory, but failed to mention those advances are products of microevolution within a kind, not macroevolution of one kind transforming into another kind like cats into dogs.
DNA studies show there is no mechanism for that kind of change except mutations, which have been shown to destroy information, not adding needed information required for total transformation. There are even processes within the DNA to correct changes that might occur.
These kinds of science facts belong in science classes, not a philosophy class.
