“The library is sort of a hub for the community, so we’re going to see a lot of different types of people and that just raises the risk,” said Leslie Tabor, manager of the Norman Public Library. She didn’t say it, so Chicken-Fried News will ask: Could it be ... hobos?
Anyway, the nuisance (the bedbugs) was found in a magazine and the library closed for a day and a half to deal with the problem. They removed everything with upholstery and had bug pros douse the place with heat and chemicals.
This isn’t the first time a library has had unwelcome guests. Libraries in California, Kentucky (no surprise there), New York and more have had bedbug problems.
The best part about the whole situation, however, may be this little gem from KFOR: “While the bedbug invasion is no work of fiction, it is a mystery as to how the pests arrived.” We see what you did there, KFOR.

Oh man, 4 time Gazette letter to the editor writer Steve Finefrock is going to be all over this!
In "Liberals Blather without Restraint" (http://www.okgazette.com/oklahoma/article-11179-liberals-%E2%80%98blather-without-restraint%E2%80%99.html )he mentions encountering Liberals on Sundays at an unnamed Library branch which he affectionately calls a “watering hole”.
Juxtapose that with the fact that KFOR had a story featuring a “Steve Finefrock” whose apartment had become over run with bedbugs and you’ll find two ways of looking at this. Either Steve brought his crawly friends with him to the blathering liberal watering hole, or it’s a liberal conspiracy to send them home with him.
Asside from the conspiracies I mentioned it’s odd that someone with such an anti-socialist mentality actually admitted to going to a library. Do I need to dumb that down for the statement to be anymore hilarious?
Do be fair, the Finefrock in the KFOR story might not be our Steve. After all the infested apartment complex was located in NW OKC, and would be closer to the Warr Acres branch than the Norman branch. So unless he moved (which anyone with sense would have done), he’s off the hook. For now……
