As bad as that recent Hitchcock biopic was, it doesn’t damage the greatness of the suspense master’s films. One of his early successes, The 39 Steps, helped inform a Tony-winning Broadway version in 2008 that now is at Jewel Box Theatre, 3700 N. Walker. The 150-character spy romp stages at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, through Feb. 10. Tickets are $5-$10. Call 521-1786 or visit jewelboxtheatre.org.
