Planting the seed

Chelsey Cope’s new band, Elms, is as earthy and native to Oklahoma as the trees that are their namesake. The soulful folk four-piece’s debut EP, Parallel Lines, was recorded at Bell Labs Recording Studio in Norman and is on its way in September. But the band has already given us a tease, with its first single, “Burn,” going live on SoundCloud on July 14.

The Chemical Brothers - We Are the Night

None July 12th, 2007

eets-"Miami Vice" background synthesizers layered behind piercing keyboard sweeps.

Like a swarm of digital bees, "We Are the Night" scurries into your speakers and fades into a house party already in session. The single "Do It Again," which already has a video making the rounds, is the second most fun song on the CD, losing ground to "The Salmon Dance," which is' you guessed it' a song about how to do a salmon dance.

As silly as it seems, just put your hands to the side and shake your body like a salmon floating upstream. Try it out, and while you are floating upstream, click and downstream this album to your iPod.
