Almonte Library Grand Opening
Metropolitan Library System’s 19th library, the Almonte Library at 2914 SW 59th in Oklahoma City, will be having a grand opening reception on Tuesday, February 19 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. The library opened on February 4, 2013 and has quickly become a popular neighborhood destination.
“The Almonte location was a temporary location for the Southern Oaks Library while it was under renovations, and it was so popular with people who had never been to Southern Oaks,” said MLS Executive Director Donna Morris, “we asked the City of Oklahoma City if we could keep it open. The city agreed and now we are celebrating the grand opening.”
The opening day celebration begins with Toddler Aerobics at 10:00 a.m and continues with arts and crafts from 1:00- 5:00 p.m. The grand opening reception will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. with refreshments served and musical entertainment by Oklahoma City’s own rock string quartet, The Stringents.
