It is an all ages event geared toward global engagement regarding childhood vaccines in developing nations. Classen Blvd.\nOklahoma City, Oklahoma\n(Parking Underground & on the Street Handicapped parking in Front)\nTime: 11:30 am-- 1:30 pm\n\nSHOT@LIFE: A Panel Discussion Featuring:\nJuliet Abdeljawad\nPriya Desai\nCharles Swanson\nModerator: Michael Korenblit\n \nFor the United Nations Association of Oklahoma City, this year’s Spring Luncheon will be on the topic of providing vaccines to children in developing nations. \n\nThe United Nations Association’s Shot@Life Campaign aims to advoca te, fundraise, and support the fight against global diseases such as measles, malaria, Polio and rotavirus. This campaign seeks to build a grass roots network nationwide, and representatives are designated as “Champions” for the cause. These are individuals who are dedicating their voice, time, and support to stand up for childhood in developing countries. Champions are leading a grassroots movement by teaching their community about the importance of global vaccines, organizing events to raise funds for United Nations programs on the ground, and meeting with their members of congress to encourage them to expand access to vaccines globally. For $20.00, you get to learn something new and learn how you can get involved and make a difference in a child’s life while eating some delicious food!\n\nOur friends at the Turkish House are preparing a wonderful meal in a pleasant, comfortable setting. Dishes will include Eggplant / Meatball Kabob, Rice and Tabouli, Vegetarian Mixe d Vegetables, and Lentil Soup. For dessert, it\'s Baklava! \n\nStudents may apply for a student luncheon scholarship to cover their expense for the lunch and program.
