Mr. and Mister

None
8 p.m., Friday March 29

It’s 1867 and love on the open plains ignites between two men in the drama, Mr. and Mister, written by Robert Matson.  The play opens Friday, March 22 at the Actor’s Casting and Talent Services, located at 30 NE 52nd Street and will run until March 30. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved online at www.tarsplace.com or by phone: 286-9298.

This original drama tells the story of a teacher, who comes to work as a tutor for a quiet rancher’s nieces and nephews.  The two men consistently squabble on how to raise the children and slowly begin to fall in love with each other.  “The play takes place at a time when homosexuality wasn’t even a word,” says Robert, “and this story of love between two men in the 1860’s is my own tale of the old west.”

Aaron Chartier, portrays Mr. Wonder, the gentleman with many secrets. “Mr. Wonder is a clean -cut, by the book, teacher”, says Aaron, “When he moves from New York to the country, he starts to learn who he really is.”

Jef Foster portrays Mr. Stone, the rancher who has chosen to live his life alone. “Mr. Stone is a very guarded and independent man and very far outside of his comfort zone.” says Jef, “I was drawn to the way the script, although taking place in a very specific period of U.S. history, still felt incredibly relevant today.”

Rounding out the cast is Greg Shuffield as Mr. Hill, Heather Newby as Becka, La Chander Crockett as Mrs. Gray, Matt Tracy as Mr. Hanson and Lana Henson as Winnie.  Scenic design will be by Terry Girton and Christopher Sieker serves as the Costume Designer.

Mr. and Mister is produced by Robert JM Productions and will perform Thursday March 28, Fridays March 22 and 29 and Saturdays March 23 and 30. The performances begin at 8 pm. The show is rated PG-13. For tickets and more information go to www.tarsplace.com
