7 p.m., Saturday April 06

The Music Moves Mountains Foundation, a new 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization offering music as a means of therapy and recovery, is proud to announce its first local benefit concert to raise awareness and funds for community programs and services. "Okie Folkies & Freaks: Songs of Oklahoma" will be special night showcasing the diversity of talent in Oklahoma while highlighting its greatest songwriters through history, from Woody Guthrie to the Flaming Lips. Local artists scheduled to perform (as of press time) are Honeylark, Scott Keeton, and Kate Leary - more to be announced soon. The night will also include music performance and testimony from local music therapists, educators and recipients of music therapy. The benefit will take place on Saturday, April 6th starting at 7pm at the Blue Door, 2805 N. McKinley, OKC, OK 73106, PH (405) 524-0738 and is all ages. A suggested donation of $20, or a donation of a new or used instrument, will be accepted at the door. Raffle items will also be available for purchase to benefit the charity.

The Music Moves Mountains Foundation was launched in 2012 in response to the lack of resources in the community to access music therapy and related services. All donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible and will be utilized to offer free or affordable services and programs to those in need of music therapy, education, and community outreach. These efforts will help children and adults suffering mental, emotional, or physical illnesses, developmental disabilities or disorders, depression, loss, trauma or stress, and at-risk or underserved individuals or schools.

The Foundation is still accepting sponsors, raffle items, and volunteers for the event. For more information on the Blue Door, please visit www.bluedoorokc.com .
