The University of Central Oklahoma College of Fine Arts and Design will present two exhibit openings featuring artworks and designs developed by Central students in back-to-back events April 25-26.
First, the interior design senior student show “Opportunity Knocks” will open with a reception from 6-8 p.m., April 25 at 655 Research Parkway, Suite 100, in Oklahoma City.
This exhibit will showcase nine graduating interior design students as they present a culmination of their best work from four years of design studies. The show will also highlight the theme “Opportunity Knocks” with a variety of doorknocker designs.
The exhibit will be on display through May 2.
The UCO Art Department Senior Capstone Exhibit opening will take place the following evening, April 26, with a reception from 6-9 p.m. at the IAO Gallery located at 706 W. Sheridan Avenue in downtown Oklahoma City.
This exhibit will feature four graduating art students with work ranging from paintings, drawings and small-scale metal works. This eclectic group of work will incorporate four years of art studies.
“This is a solid group of students who are really dedicated to challenging themselves both technically and conceptually and this definitely shows in their work,” said Mike Litzau, M.F.A., assistant art professor.
The exhibit will be on display through May 13.
Both exhibits are free and open to the public.
