“Generations,” a father-son art exhibit with Brad and Nathan Price featuring recent works in oil, acrylic and mixed-media, will open in the Depot Gallery, 200 South Jones, Norman, on March 4 and continue through April 31.  There will be receptions for the artists in conjunction with Norman’s 2nd Friday Circuit of Art  on both March 14 and April 11 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.  Both receptions will include painting demonstrations by the artists.

Norman artist Brad Price is an instructor in the Art Department at Oklahoma Baptist University.  Son Nathan Price is a graphic designer, visual artist and musician living in Tulsa, OK.

The bold brushstrokes and colors in expressionist works by Brad Price are inspired by the Southwest landscape and its rugged beauty. His works in oil are emotive and colorful with strong directional lines.  He invites the viewer to enter and view the world that he has seen and experienced. Currently, the landscape of Northern New Mexico is his primary focus.

The Mayor of Santa Fe, chose one of Brad’s paintings for the cover of the Centennial Issue of the Santa Fe Visitor’s Guide. During the Oklahoma Bicentennial his works were exhibited at the Oklahoma State Capital. He has been the cover artist for the magazine, “Santa Fe Circle.” His work is widely collected.

Brad Price is represented by Meyer Gallery on Canyon Road in Santa Fe and Indigo Gallery in Madrid, New Mexico . In Oklahoma he is represented by Downtown Art and Frame and the Depot, both in Norman. He also sells through his website at www.bradprice.net.

Nathan Price is a visual artist from Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Though born in Fort Worth, Texas, Nathan grew up in South America.  He paints in an abstract style using the mediums of ink, acrylic and oil. He has an affinity for the faces of both animals and people. Every painting is an adventure, an experiment and an expression.

Nathan is currently designing and illustrating for the popular guitar pedal company, Walrus Audio of Norman, OK. Well known in the music industry, his artwork embellishes album cover art for many bands, local and national, including: Dead Sea Choir; Brian Haas; Matt Chamberlain; Ngheims; MARSH; Blackwatch Studios; Fowler VW Christmas Album; The Brilliance; and Sherree Chamberlain.

In addition to his visual art, Nathan is a consummate drummer, studio musician and producer. He is associated with Church Studios in Tulsa, and Black Watch Studios in Norman.  Find out more about Nathan D. Price at www.nathanpriceart.com

The paintings in “Generations” will be offered for purchase in an ongoing silent auction which will close at exhibit close. Bids will start at one half the retail price.
