Spring Fling

None
Noon-5 p.m., Thursday April 10
In Your Eye Gallery, in the Historic Paseo Arts District, presents "Spring Fling," a group exhibit by gallery artists capturing the warm rushes of emotion that characterize this season of rebirth. The show opens Friday, April 4, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and continues through Saturday, April 26.

For artists at In Your Eye Gallery, springtime conjures up images of new life, fresh growth, and more broadly, the very idea of renewal. For many of our two-dimensional artists, spring means a bold palette of luscious emerald green, bright yellow, and eye-popping chartreuse, while others may use soft hues eluding to a gentle rain or sunrise. Both painters and photographers introduce the air of spring to a variety of subjects including landscapes, city structures, flowers, and figures. For some of the abstract painters, that feeling of newness is expressed with playful abandon.

Our three-dimensional artists also create pieces suggestive of this captivating season: metal sculpture composed of vertical curving, intertwined shapes; fanciful and fun jewelry constructed of colored wires and recycled gift cards; and, intriguing ceramics of interlocking pieces edged with soft, muted glazes.

The spring-inspired artwork was created in various media including painting, photography, mixed media, metal sculpture, ceramics and jewelry. The twelve artists represented in the gallery are: Sue Hale, Dana Powell, Andrea Kissinger, Chad Woolbright, Carl Shortt, Jr., Janice Mathews-Gordon, Diana J Smith, Theresa Hurt, Basil Martin, MtnWoman Silver, Jean Keil, and Caroline Cohenour.Join us for "Spring Fling" at In Your Eye Gallery from April 4-26. The gallery is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 5:00 pm.
