Friday June 20
Liz Noble, an artist originally from Little Rock, Arkansas now residing here in Oklahoma City, received her master's degree in painting and drawing from Louisiana State University. Her body of work evolves from themes of female body image, feminine stereotypes, eating and domesticity. The colorful, large-scale paintings Noble creates utilize mixed media and imagery of mundane private rituals performed by solitaire female figures, drawing parallels between the superficial and the pursuit or attempt to fit within prescribed social roles.

The paintings featured at IAO Gallery in "Ladylike" include a selection of work emphasizing the relationship between painting and drawing in contemporary figurative work.
