The most entertaining of ‘The Fast and the Furious’ franchise
Action Rod Lott
Some would equate the statement “the most entertaining of ‘The Fast and the Furious’ franchise” with “the best time I got punched in the face.”
Drama Rod Lott
"Mr. Nice" is a little too true to its title. Had the film had more
balls, it might have made a stronger impression. Based upon the
real-life exploits of Howard Marks, writer/director Bernard Rose tracks
the smart Welsh lad's sharp-angled trajectory from bullied sissy boy to
major worldwide player in the drug-smuggling trade.
Unfortunately, it fails to deliver on that third word.
Comedy Rod Lott
In its opening moments, "Rio Sex Comedy" is instantly endearing, with
Fisher Stevens’ character practically passing out over the sight of nude
natives, followed by They Might Be Giants' "Istanbul (Not
Constantinople)" driving the opening credits.
Sci-Fi Rod Lott
You won't find Jules Verne's name in the credits of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,
but so integral is he to the surprise-hit sequel that the classic
author is practically a supporting character, despite being dead since
1905.
