Peace, Love & Misunderstanding

You'll want to punch a hippie.

Drama

Phil Bacharach
Nothing can bring out one’s inner Richard Nixon like a flight of baby-boomer whimsy that rubs your nose in 1960s nostalgia. Peace, Love & Misunderstanding, a gentle-minded paean to the Woodstock generation, might just make you want to punch a hippie.

Voting for peace

Commentary

Nathaniel Batchelder
Thinking about the Nov. 6 elections, it is clear to me that we the people must stand in the gap to reverse America’s drift toward becoming a nation and government of, for and by the few doing very well, while the many struggle merely to get by. The stakes are daunting.

Maurice Johnson — Peace, Love & Jazz

Jazz

Louis Fowler
A swanky, ’60s cocktail vibe permeates Oklahoma City jazz guitarist Maurice Johnson’s Peace, Love & Jazz, right from the opening track, “In and Out,” which could have been the theme song to a heist caper starring Steve McQueen and Natalie Wood. It sounds like Burt Bacharach meets George Benson, with smooth melodic grooves hinting at just a little bit of underlying danger.

Dark Angel

The high-def release comes in peace.

Sci-Fi

Rod Lott
When did 1990's I Come in Peace become Dark Angel? More importantly, why? Did some porno cop its title? Now people will confuse it with that one TV series Jessica Alba did for James Cameron before she became a movie star.

Give peace a chance?

Once again, a U.S. senator from Oklahoma came to a logical sion on an important issue. And concluonce again, the reasons he arrived at said conclusion are somewhat, um, curious.
