The organization is working to landscape parts of Classen Boulevard as a part of its efforts to celebrate four decades as a nonprofit organization. OKC Beautiful landscaped the median in front of its office on Classen Boulevard and 35th Street, and now has moved south to the median at Classen Boulevard and 36th Street.

Eyesores can be beautiful. At least when seen through the lens of photographer Cody Lee Dopps, whose shots of old houses and buildings constitute Of Our Land, his new exhibition on display daily through Sept. 2 in the North Gallery of the Oklahoma state Capitol, 2300 N. Through a partnership with Peach Crest Farm, OKC Beautiful is gifting pear and green apple trees to local elementary schools. The problem? Volunteers are needed to help plant them, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. C’mon — a little shoveling would do you good! Call 525-8822.
