The Black Keys — El Camino

Good job, whoever convinced Danger Mouse to loosen up a bit.

Rock

Matt Carney
Drummer and hilarious tweeter Patrick Carney recently explained DJ Danger Mouse’s (aka Brian Burton, the production half of Gnarls Barkley) role producing “El Camino,” The Black Keys’ seventh LP in nine years: “For this album, The Black Keys became a three-piece band.”

The Outlaw Brothers

Kickin’!

Action

Rod Lott
In the heyday of DVD, 20th Century Fox brought a lot of contemporary Asian actioners to disc in affordable, collectible editions under the “Hong Kong Legends” banner: Eastern Condors, Magnificent Butchers, Knockabout, In the Line of Duty 4, City Hunter, Naked Killer, My Lucky Stars. Watching The Outlaw Brothers reminded me of those glorious times.

The Thompsons

More ‘True Blood,’ less ‘Twilight,’ thankfully.

Horror

Rod Lott
One need not have seen 2006’s The Hamiltons before seeing its new sequel, The Thompsons. Heck, one need not even have heard of it, as I suspect many haven't.
