Why do liberals love Islam, hate Christianity?

Letters to the Editor

Martin Morrell
I have several comments regarding Kurt Hochenauer’s Feb. 9 Gazette Commentary “Counterpoint: Separation anxiety.” Hochenauer worries that discussing religious ideas could “dumb down” our students. As dumbed-down as our public schools already are, it’s hard to believe that discussing anything could dumb them down any further.

Slipping Mickey

Letters to the Editor

Brandon Wertz
In the June 1 edition of the Gazette, Mickey McVay wrote a scathing letter (“Discouraging words”) implying that the negative names that liberals use to define conservatives detract from intelligent political conversation (a letter I rebuked in the June 15 issue with “The gospel according to a ‘liberal’”).

What liberals really want

Letters to the Editor

James Henry
Mike Brake (Commentary, “Disaster is ahead for Obamacare,” Gazette, Aug. 8) really should do a little research on what liberals want, if he really thinks the Affordable Care Act is “their big wish.”

LETTERS

Also: Don’t lock up drug offenders

Letters to the Editor

Christopher Mock
In his Nov. 27 Oklahoma Gazette letter to the editor, Doug Rixmann makes the absurdly broad statement that “socialists are not happy people.”

Education for the people

Commentary

John Thompson
The victories of Republican State Superintendent candidate Joy Hofmeister and the two Democrats, John Cox and Freda Deskin, are a part of the grassroots revolt by liberals and conservatives against test-driven, market-driven school “reform.”
