Due Date

Not 'The Hangover,' but still good!

Comedy

Rod Lott
Todd Phillips' "Due Date" had the rather unfortunate position of being his follow-up to "The Hangover," the Golden Globe-winning critical smash that ended up being the highest-grossing R-rated comedy in the history of cinema.

Red Hot Chili Peppers — I'm with You

Rock

Kelley Chambers
For some of us, “I'm With You,” the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 10th studio album, is a long-awaited and welcome project that very likely could never have happened. To others, it didn’t need to happen, and is simply more of the same from a group that should have hung things up 10 years ago and spent their time preening courtside at L.A. Lakers games and basking in their own fame.

Breeding Ground

CFN

Gazette staff
This state is a veritable breeding ground for famous people, from Will Rogers to Garth Brooks (although we don’t claim Chris Gaines). And for general badassery, there’s Chuck Norris, who hails from south-central Oklahoma.

VOTD: Pug love

Watch Adele’s ‘Someone Like You,’ now with 100% more Oklahoman pugs.

That Singletree Productions’ Mark Potts and Brand Rackley are accomplished low-budget humorists is a well-documented truth. Less well-documented (and criminally so) is Potts’ pug, Gizmo, himself a gifted actor who is now a big shot living with his owners in Los Angeles.

Here, Gizmo stars as Rackley’s special lady, who apparently thought that the 25-cent Pug Transformation Machine was a joke. Be impressed by the canine’s gender-bending performance:

Also, be sure to check out our recent Academy Awards feature, in which Potts weighs in on which dog actor deserves recognition.

L.A. not-so-confidential

Thunder stars James Harden and Kevin Durant got chippy with Lakers legend Kobe Bryant last night.

CFN

Gazette staff
The Oklahoma City Thunder took to the court at Chesapeake Energy Arena last night for the final time before the All-Star break, and interestingly enough, the matchup was against the Los Angeles Lakers, a team boasting two All-Star starters in guard/forward Kobe Bryant and center Andrew Bynum.

We can all agree that Derek Fisher’s return to Oklahoma City Thunder is a good thing, right?
