It's a blessing

Oklahoma’s Episcopal Diocese provides materials allowing for the blessing of same-sex unions.

The Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma last week published documents that allow for the blessing of same-sex unions in Oklahoma. Bishop Ed Konieczny said the materials — which include guidelines for clergy and an approved liturgy (order of service) — clearly state that the union is not a legally binding ceremony.

Last week, I witnessed something I never expected to see in my lifetime. When I heard the ruling of the Supreme Court declare that the U.S. government can no longer discriminate against me or my friends, I wept. Now, at last, my marriage to my husband will be recognized in our own country.
