It’s your fire at your desire: Venus. From the safety of the parking lot of Science Museum Oklahoma, 2100 N.E. 52nd, see the second rock from the sun in a rare astronomical phenomenon: passing across the face of the sun. Oklahoma City Astronomy Club members will host the viewing with special solar telescopes and filters, from 5 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. It won’t happen again until 2117, so don’t chance it. Visit okcastroclub.com.

Animal Collective — Centipede HZ

Indie

Joshua Boydston
There really was no way for Animal Collective to match Merriweather Post Pavilion, widely considered the best album of 2009. It’s damn near impossible to bottle lightning twice, especially with the caustic and combustible ingredients the psych-rock band uses to build its ambitious opuses, in which indie electronics meet space rock.
