Gun advocate’s argument full of holes

Letters to the Editor

Joel Hendrickson
Grant “Jake” Goss (Letters, “Councilman misfires with gun comment,” Feb. 16, Gazette) presents a reductionist and laughable argument. Are a Ferrari and a Pinto the same because they both use an internal combustion engine and roll on four wheels?

They put the “mock” in “democracy.” They’re The Capitol Steps, the long-running political comedy troupe, and something tells us they’ve got lots to joke about on their current national tour. The sassy satirists will perform 7:30 p.m. Monday at Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Fine Arts Center, 100 Campus Drive in Weatherford. Tickets are $10- $20. Call 580-774-3019 or visit swosu.edu.

Orchid it

OKG7 things to do

Gazette staff
Orchids aren’t your average plants — they’re basically the Fabio of gardening: muscular, luxuriant and a flowing head of hair. (Just kidding about the last one.) See for yourself at the First Annual Orchid Show starting Friday and open through March 29 at the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory inside Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W. Reno Ave. Admission is $4-$7. Call 445-7080 or visit myriadgardens.com.
