Before you acquire the ol' ball and chain, best attend The Ball & Chain, an unconventional wedding show to be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Plaza District's PhotoArt Studios and Coin Laundry, 1734 N.W. 16th. Curated by Gibson Events, the event will feature more than 40 local creative vendors. Like a wedding, the B&C includes a ceremony and reception, followed by a dance party. A separate “groom’s lounge” will be available, complete with video games and a signature whiskey cocktail. Tickets are $30. Visit

Hear it

Despite the show’s title, a whistling rendition of “Sweet Georgia Brown” will not be part of A Globetrotter’s Guide to the Orchestra. But since it’s the season finale of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, you can expect “Adagio for Strings,” and that’s pretty catchy in its own right. You be the judge at 8 p.m. Saturday at Civic Center Music Hall, 201 N. Walker. Tickets are $15- $52. Call 842-5387 or visit
