Womb to grow

Wayne Coyne’s wildly experimental art space, Womb, is now open to the public, with no messy afterbirth.

People had been trying to enter Womb everyday, curious as to what the psychedelic-painted exterior is housing inside. The mural of swirling color, abstract patterns, eyes and candied lips covering the entire structure certainly contrast with the glass, mortar and steel facades of the surrounding buildings on the evolving Automobile Alley.

The Flaming Lips — Playing Hide and Seek with the Ghosts of Dawn

The Flaming Lips’ latest cover album, Playing Hide and Seek with the Ghosts of Dawn, is a song-by-song remake of King Crimson’s 1969 classic, In the Court of the Crimson King. Naturally, it’s only available on hard-to-get, limited-edition colored vinyl.

T.I. — Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head

Atlanta rapper T.I. has released Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head, his eighth studio album and the first since his most recent stint in prison. The title is no doubt a reference to his legal troubles on federal weapons charges, but it also makes reference to the Marvin Gaye song of the same name, which is sampled in the album’s opening track.
