It’s about gun rights for everyone

Representative Sally Kern is just thinking of the children, especially the right for them to bear, well, things in the shape of arms. In a funny little piece of legislature proposed by her, it would make it illegal for teachers to punish children for having weapons on their minds and indulging in playtime activities such as drawing a gun, using fingers or hands in the shape of a gun or making gun noises.

 In an exclusive News9/Oklahoma Gazette poll, 52 percent of Oklahoma City residents “strongly supported” public funding to help build storm shelters in public schools. Another 26 percent “somewhat supported” the idea.

H.L. Menken once wrote that “for every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.” This is most certainly the case with the Reading Sufficiency Act that mandates retention in the third grade for students scoring an unsatisfactory on the reading test.
