Ain’t no party like a STASH block party ’cause a STASH block party don’t stop. Actually, this one will, but not before patrons enjoy door prizes, local art, a keg and snacks from McNellie’s Public House, Waffle Champion and Dry/Shop Blow-Dry Bar and Boutique. An abandoned lumber yard isn’t your typical setting for a good time. But for a month-long public arts project, it’s ideal. Norman Arts Council’s StART Norman initiative will turn the vacant yard into a lively downtown stop beginning with a re-opening celebration 6-10 p.m. Friday on the southwest corner of W. 70 bands in 14 venues. Need we say more? How about a DJ set from electronic music heavyweight Moby? (Heavy in reputation; not stature.) That’s what the ACM@UCO Rocks Bricktown Festival offers Oklahoma City residents as part of the school’s fifth annual celebration. As an Oklahoma Native, photographer Nicol Ragland knows a thing or two about indigenous peoples. Her new solo exhibit, Indigene, features 21 original photographs taken over the past five years, including the Hadzabe of Tanzania, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. Jonathon Stranger ain’t no stranger to cookin’. The chef and co-owner of Ludivine knows a thing or two about the kitchen — and what to do in it. He also wants to share the breadth of his knowledge with you, and he’ll do so at Francis Tuttle’s School of Culinary Arts Guest Chef Dinner Series. One of the great things about Oklahoma is the variety of colors in our landscape. Our dirt is red, for crying out loud. Artist Joey Frisillo’s new exhibit, Oklahoma Colors: Earth Sky and Water, celebrates the diversity of our environment. The exhibit opens with a reception 6-9 p.m. Friday at Depot Gallery, 200 S.
