Randy Cassimus has spent years cranking out rock ’n’ roll in bars and clubs throughout Oklahoma City. He’s used to playing over the clink of beer glasses and shouts of liquored-up patrons when he plays with local band The Hi-Def Howlers. So he wasn’t quite sure what to expect when he booked an acoustic gig at a bookstore.

All-you-can-eat chili! And now that we have your attention, here are the deets for the fifth annual Chili Bowl fundraiser: from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at the University of Oklahoma’s Lightwell Gallery, 520 Parrington Oval in Norman. The chili is $8, unless you want to keep the studentmade ceramic bowl, in which case your total is $15. Call 325-2691 or visit art.ou.edu.
