A movie that disparages dogs, if it were produced by a bunch of kitty cats, might have its objectivity called into question. Something similar is happening with a motion picture, set for release early next year, that purportedly highlights the evils of hydraulic fracturing, yet is heavily financed by a member of OPEC.

One might think that after 123 years, the Oklahoma City Police Department would have a lot of history to share. It does! Now on display from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at City Hall, 200 N. Walker, is just that, with photos, documents and historical items, including a bomb suit and robot from the 1980s, an armored vest from the 1930s and a saddle used by the Mounted Patrol division. Admission is free. Call 297-2391.

Tomorrow’s Picasso might be today’s Firehouse Art Center summer program student. From paintings and drawings to collages and sculptures, the works of the 5-to-13-year-old program grads currently can be seen Mondays through Saturdays at the venue, 444 S.
