For a drag show that’s loud in a different way, head to the Oklahoma River for drag boat racing Friday through Sunday at the Ozarka OKC Nationals. Among the models racing is the Liquid Quiker, which can hit speeds in excess of 250 miles per hour. Tickets are $20 per day, or free for kids 12 and under. In its last fiscal year, the Oklahoma City Zoo set an attendance record of 982,721. Well, kiss that number goodbye, because with this fiscal year that ended June 30, the zoo smashed it like a human head under an elephant’s foot!

It’s alive! It’s alive! Or rather, it will be, beginning Thursday. That’s when Oklahoma City Theatre Company unwraps its production of Frankenstein at Civic Center Music Hall, 201 N. Walker, where it runs through Oct. 27. OKCTC artistic director Rachel Irick promises a Frankenstein for “a new generation,” including a techno score. Tickets are $10-$20.
