Nature’s (Lego) fury

Kids engineer Lego robots in order to save the human race — and possibly win a world title.

News

Guinness World Record Gobbler Challenge just sounds awesome, doesn’t it? That’s what is taking place at the fourth annual Edmond Turkey Trot — a 5k run and 1-mile “family wobble” — which is teaming up with other cities to break the world record for most combined participants in a multi-venue race. Trotting begins at 8 a.m. Thursday in downtown Edmond. Registration is required. Visit edmondturkeytrot.com.

While not necessarily a duel in the traditional sense (you know, the kind where the loser dies at the end), world champion bull rider J.B. Mauney and world champion bull, Bushwacker, are set for an old-fashioned manbull showdown in PBR’s Clash of the Champions rodeo event. The bucking battle goes down 7 p.m. Saturday at Chesapeake Energy Arena, 100 W. Reno Ave. Tickets are $18-$103. Call 602-8700 or visit chesapeakearena.com.
