The Red Dirt Rangers and the Red Dirt Relief Fund are assisting local musicians in times of need.

The 2014 Red Earth Festival features hundreds of American Indian artists, dancers and performers from around the continent in one of the country’s premiere cultural showcases, with a parade 9 a.m. Friday at Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W. Reno Ave. The festival itself begins at 6 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday-Saturday at Remington Park, 1 Remington Place. Admission is $7.50-$10. Visit
