Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, but Tyler Kelting has already been publishing strips of his post-apocalyptic comic book series My Friend, Death on his website. The Edmond-based writer/artist will sign the first two issues of the series 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 at New World Comics, 6219 N. Meridian Ave. Admission is free. Guest Chef Dinner Series: Jonathon Stranger

Jonathon Stranger ain’t no stranger to cookin’. The chef and co-owner of Ludivine knows a thing or two about the kitchen — and what to do in it. He also wants to share the breadth of his knowledge with you, and he’ll do so at Francis Tuttle’s School of Culinary Arts Guest Chef Dinner Series. There will be five seatings every 30 minutes beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, 12777 N. Rockwell Ave. Tickets are $50. Call 717-7799 or visit francistuttle.edu.

Nature really is all around us. That newspaper or computer screen you’re looking at? Yeah, nature. It’s also everywhere in art, as The Nature Conservancy of Oklahoma’s new Nature in Art Series so adeptly portrays. Check out the first show with featured artist Paul Snyder 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at The Nature Conservancy’s Midtown office, 408 NW Seventh St., and later this month at H&8th Night Market.
